Job Role

Management of human and other resources in an efficient, effective & professional manner

Daily duties & responsibilities will include:


  • Opening/closing of premises – acting as key holder in emergencies
  • Managing staffing levels to ensure cost controls
  • Liaise with servery and kitchen staff to ensure correct stocking levels
  • Ensure specials board is regularly changed, ensuring the best use of stock
  • Ensure servery counters are well stocked and low stock levels are reported to the kitchen staff for action
  • Ensure kitchen staff produce stock for the servery in a good and timely manner
  • Staff motivation and welfare
  • Completion of work rotas in conjunction with management
  • Conduct Sickness Absence interviews, recording outcomes
  • Basic disciplinary investigations and interviews
  • Dealing with low level staff grievances
  • Customer complaints management
  • Adhere to Health & Safety and Child Protection Policies and Procedures
  • General stock management



  • 2 years verifiable supervisory or management experience, in a busy environment, or
  • 1 year verifiable supervisory or management experience and a higher level supervisory or management qualification

Pay & Hours of work

  • Wage – up to £18000 dependent on experience and qualifications
  • Hours – 32 – 35 per week (with additional hours available)
  • Weekend and bank holiday working essential
  • Working days are 5 out of 7, rostered weekly
  • Working hours -  between 9.30am and 6.30pm Monday – Saturday, 12.30pm – 6.30pm Sunday
  • Very occasional shifts to 9pm, shared out among a pool of supervisors
