Company Bio & Role

Nationwide company has opened a new Dublin office due to expansion and require a self-motivated, well organised, personable, good communicator with a background in construction based in their office.  Training on our in-house systems is provided.  Following completion of training the successful candidate will be carrying out surveys across a variety of commercial sites throughout Ireland.  Successful candidate will have full admin support.

Job

  • Carry out surveys to client sites across Ireland and prepare costs based on client requriements
  • Undertake cost analysis for repair, maintenance or project work
  • Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control;
  • Advise on a procurement strategy working with the buying team to select and source materials
  • Prepare and analyse costings for tenders
  • Allocate work to subcontractors
  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations
  • At least five years’ experience in a construction company with experience of multi site clients and dealing with minor projects
  • Strong understanding of modern building techniques, plant and equipment and an appreciation of logistical needs/issues.
  • Strong understanding of construction contract conditions.
  • Good career continuity.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and database software.

 

Criteria:

  • Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or equivalent qualification.  Candidates without this level of education may be considered if they can demonstrate suitable work experience and can demonstrate capability as deemed appropriate by Management.
  • Full Driving Licence Necessary
  • At least five years’ experience in a construction company with experience of multi site clients and dealing with minor projects
  • Strong understanding of modern building techniques, plant and equipment and an appreciation of logistical needs/issues.
  • Strong understanding of construction contract conditions.
  • Good career continuity.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and database software.
